It is my artistic desire to create Mosaic artwork with intricate jewel-like designs that suggest an embroidered look. Working with a variety of materials including stained glass, dichroic glass, smalti, gems, golds, pearls. swarovski crystals, semi-precious stones & beads, allows me to craft pieces with expressive textures and depth. It is my intention in a finished piece to show the luminious glow and glistening of color in which light can dance off the mosaic. To capture this, I created a blend of crushed glass, colored sand, glass glitter and micro beads which I use as a substitute for conventional grout. This allows for more playful effects and textures within each work.
