Always having the entrepreneurial spirit, I opened my own highly successful Bakery cafe for over 16 years, all the time desiring a less stressful pace. I began backing off slightly from the grueling hours to restart my true passion of creating mosaic art. That is where my heart was and I knew in time that the inspiration of making mosaic pieces for others and receiving their response would be the best result.

In 2002, I built a studio in my home and began devoting time to making functional pieces; salt & pepper shakers, boxes, lazy Susan’s, light switch covers, and began displaying these items around my home. My friends and family began ordering items for themselves and for gifts and it was then the business began. It seemed I evolved after each finished piece and never enjoyed repeating myself, so I took on more diversified requests such as fireplace installations as well as custom wall art.

After I sold the bakery in 2004, I knew my true one and only passion was mosaic art. Since leaving the retail business,
I have devoted my time creating mosaics of all kinds. I love working with color and have created a unique technique of using a combination of crushed glass, powders, glass glitter and micro beads, all mixed together to create an unusual effect to my art.

I knew now I had to have the facility to make the kind of art
I was being asked to produce. I set out to expand my studio, and in late 2007 I did just that. I now have a plentiful space and studio that I can expand in the future.

I feel so lucky that I can do what I love to do. This has been a slow and gradual process and finally I feel that I am doing this the right way. The inspirations of my colleagues, as well as the support and encouragement of my family and friends, has made this possible. Now I know what others mean when they say it ... I have the quintessential job and I am happy to fulfill your inspirations with my mosaic art!
